Crafting beautiful photographs of birds requires a mix of instinct, creativity and experience. Come learn from expert photographer Karen Schuenemann as she shares her secrets. You’ll start with a presentation on the basics of avian camerawork where you will learn how to prepare and be ready for out in the field.

We’ll head out to Bolsa Chica, Orange Country the premier birdy location, where Karen will coach you through making amazing pictures in the wild and the ever changing environment that our feathered friends inhabit. If you’ve ever been captivated or intrigued by flying flocks, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to translate it into your photos.


Birds in Flight- Class

Our evening will cover the nuts and bolts of what you need to create outstanding photographs of birds. We will discuss the basics of settings, equipment and light that will give you the tools to capture great images. Karen will share her special tips and tricks that she’s gained from years of experience. Bring your cameras!

Hands on Excursion

Our hands-on excursion at Bolsa Chica will get you out in the field, making your learning real. You’ll discover how to utilize the changing environment to make great pictures. From Great Blue Herons to Snowy Egrets to Osprey, we will make some wonderful Images! Bring those birder outfits!
