Chris Hershman is a Chicago-based filmmaker, photographer, musician and Nikon Ambassador. At a young age he began photographing bands throughout the Midwest, with his work evolving from stills into video. Chris draws his inspiration from live music, natural lighting and raw talent that surrounds him. His work includes video and photo for the Chicago Music Exchange, and has captured bands such as the Alabama Shakes, Switchfoot, Betty Who, Rita Ora, Colony House, NEEDTOBREATHE, and many other artists. His work has been featured on Rollingstones.com and the 2012 Grammy Awards

Share an informative evening with independent rock and roll photographer and filmmaker Chris Hershman. Chris will share with you his unique story of how he got to where he is today. Find out how he draws his inspiration from live music and how he creates beautiful videos as well as still photographs. Chris will also share some of his tried and true methods that work for him and his gear recommendations. You will be educated and inspired by a talented filmmaker. All photographers and filmmakers are welcome!

Enjoy a full day hands on workshop with filmmaker Chris Hershman, creating artistic music videos and still photographs. Learn tips and techniques that will propel your photography and video making skills. Chris Hershman will teach you the basics of video making, no matter your type and genre. You will have the opportunity to photograph and video alongside Chris with a live band performing right here in our studio. You will be guided through camera settings, lighting, and learn how to get the best sound quality. Chris will also show you how to set up and properly compose posing performers and band portrait photos. At the end of the day there will be a live film edit tutorial. Test and try the latest gear from Nikon.
